ABOUT ME

Hello, I'm me. I am a British guy living in Finland. I own a hostel in Helsinki and still study occassionaly, at least in theory. I live in Katajanokka, about 5 minutes walk from downtown and about 1 minute from a tram stop.

NOTE: In the summer I also hangout at my student place a little to the north of Helsinki. It's great, with a lake, sauna and BBQ (and parties) and you are very welcome. I also spend time in the city, so message me and find out where I am. It is possible to see Helsinki from the summer house too.

PHILOSOPHY

Second Update: How do I participate? The same way everyone does, by hosting and surfing. Not sure I need to say more here, if you're on this website, I'm sure you get the idea.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None what so ever, only heard about couch surfing through friends. That was because a couch surfer I was helping to look after went mad (literally) and was institutionalized after trying to catch a plane from Helsinki airport to planet Zoron 5 from gate 99X. I seriously wish I was joking. That said, it hasn't put me off couch surfing, I've been told that's not a normal experience.

Update: Obviously I have more experience now, but I like the story above so it stays.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Almost dying in the Amazon and an indigenous guy trying to save me by beating me with leaves, rubbing whole body with menthol and blowing smoke in my face, whilst I was in a delirious dream like state and couldn't feel most of my body any more.

Oh, add to that I made a brief appearance on a Bollywood soap opera. I'll send you the link if you want, it's on Youtube.

Oh, the best thing ever. If you're in a restaurant and you want the bill, simply hold up your hand and pretend it is a piece of paper, then hold up your other hand and pretend it has a pen in it. Then pretend to scribble on the other hand. Saves loads of time, the waiter loves it (they don't have to walk across the room) and it works in any country (though in China write on your hand top to bottom and in Israel write right to left).
I hope by the time I die I have more to show for my existence than this.
