About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find friends in St. Louis

ABOUT ME

My goal is to travel extensively, meet and make connections with diverse and interesting people all over the world, and have a great time doing it! So far, so good! I'm using my time off during the winter to self-reflect and focus on taking care of my body, deepen old connections, read as much as possible, and meet new people. Bringing people together is one of my absolute favorite things to do... I love hosting events and introducing people to one another!

PHILOSOPHY

Touch lives in as positive a way as possible.I believe in uniting people together towards common goals, and common interests.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My main experience with couchsurfing has been in the St. Louis area. I met many wonderful people through this site, went to CS dinner parties, toured the city with fellow surfers, and even crashed on a couple couches! When I lived in California in 2013 I co-hosted my first and only surfer thus far, but I'm looking forward to reciprocating all the positive CS energy that's been blown my way!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Very positive so far!

Interests

I enjoy crafting (like crochet and bracelet making), cooking (but I want to learn more!), hiking and spending time outdoors. I'm interested in hanging out and getting a few drinks, watching movies, dancing, and building blanket forts. I'm not too old to make believe, and I'll always be there to share adventures, thoughts, and stories.

One of my favorite things to do is get people together (especially those who may not have ever met) to hang out and go on adventures!

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an immense affinity for Sherlock Holmes. I haven't memorized all the relevant factoids, and I can't quote the books, but I do enjoy the character, and all things Sherlock Holmes related. My sister and I recently found a Sherlock Holmes video game... It's been a wonderful experience to play through.

I recently find myself reading books and focusing on the way the story is written, not the story itself. I've been encountering wordsmiths whose beautiful imagery and phrasing inspire me to better my own writing.

I just found an "Illustrated Dictionary of Everything" in the library. The thought of how many hours could be spent with the book, cross-referencing with the internet to learn about particularly interesting topics, made me tear up right there at the bookshelf.

I read four of the Song of Ice and Fire books while working in Alaska, summer 2013. It's a phenomenal fantasy series!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

*I lived in Yellowstone National Park in the summer of 2012.

*I worked in Alaska during the summer of 2013, where I landed in a ski plane on a glacier on the highest mountain in North America; Mt. Denali (McKinley), among other grand adventures.

*Rode horseback through the jungles of Puerto Rico. Won against a French woman in a horse race.

*Rode a scuba scooter over shipwrecks in the Caribbean.

*Spent a week living in a castle in Ireland. Saw the Cliffs of Moher, which continues to be in my top 5 most beautiful places I've visited. Ireland felt like coming home.

*Magical music festival experiences! (Ask me about Camp Bisco and Electric Forest ;] )

*I've been to nearly every state. Still holding out for Maine, Louisiana, and Hawaii!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to crochet, make pretty awesome thread bracelets, and build rock sculptures!

I've been working on stretching and massage techniques, and would be happy to share tips and tactics!
