Hi, I'm Omar. I'm 20 years old and I'm currently studying law at the University of Kent in England. I was born in Amsterdam but have lived in Barcelona, Spain since I was 11. I went to international schools which is why i'm fluent in English, and of course studying in the UK helps a bit as well. During my time in Spain I picked up a fair bit of Spanish as well but I wasn't confident enough to click that 'fluent' button.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I Joined couchsurfing because it seemed like a great way to enrich the already great experience of travelling by adding the aspect of meeting new people and learning the culture from someone who actually lives in the country I'm visiting.
I'm a pretty quiet person at first but enjoy company and meeting new people and again think that Couchsurfing is a great way of doing that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I will do is spend this summer (2016) teaching English to underprivileged communities in rural Cambodia. I had been looking for volunteering opportunities for this summer and the combination of spending a month in South East Asia together with the aspect of assisting in teaching kids and adolescents a language which will aid them in their future development seemed like an amazing opportunity to me.

I can always teach you a little bit of Dutch or English if you're interested. Spanish should also be fine but I can't guarantee anything ;)
