Grew up in Egypt, became a doctor, then hated being a doctor and had my hopes in the country crushed by our short-lived revolution. I left my career and country behind and I currently live in San Francisco, making healthcare data as cool as the 60s were.

Gumption: A Scottish word denoting those certain moments of high quality we encounter every so often in life. Those moments which uplift your soul, flush you with positivity and brighten your mind.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My friends and I hung up a giant 26 by 9 meter flag over the Egyptian State Radio and Television Building during a coptic uprising against minority violence. We hung it on top of the roof with two teams of 7 each holding vertical ropes on two different floors. We then unrolled the flag perfectly flat which we had painted 'No sectarian violence' message across its width.

Just for the heck of it. We made it to CNN though!
