ABOUT ME
I'm Thom a man of many loves. As in things I love, not lovers.
I live in Sheffield with my girlfriend Pattilyn and our small dog Walter.
If I could achieve my perfect Saturday that included most of my loves it would look a little like this:
Wake up next to Patti and read in bed for an hour scratching Walter's belly
Get up and cook delicious eggs and squeeze orange juice and make coffee and read the newspaper
Take Walter to the park for a long walk next to the stream
Go and rummage around in junk shops and dusty vinyl shops looking for forgotten gems.
Go food shopping to get the ingredients to cook into some thing new and adventurous...
Go for an exiting mountain bike adventure in the nearby hills.
Come home and play guitar and make music and lose myself in the reverb and delay soaked swells.
Listen to some records and watch some films with Patti.
cook some delicious food with Patti. We cook all kinds of things.
Go to the pub to sere our friends for a few drinks and then on to see some music, preferably psych or kraut or drone or something similarly loose.
Then a few friends would come home to listen to some records and hang out before drifting off.
That's about it. never quite manage it all though.
PHILOSOPHY
Keep feeding an open mind and learn off everyone.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I work in education and recently I decided I want to be a primary teacher... Which is what i'm going to do.
I'm musically active consuming and creating.
I have done long distance cycling for charity.
I help shows and benefits and keep culturally active.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted and stayed and made friends through global freeloaders... Have had some wonderful times.
Roberto from Brazil was do fascinated with English life that he photographed EVERYTHING, including the cupboards.
Arnaud from France cutting loose and drinking vermouth in his pants wearing deck shoes.
And staying...
Steph in New York taking us to dive bars and distant ethnic neighbourhoods.
Bruce in Austin meeting us off the greyhound unexpectedly and taking us under his wing.
These are just a couple of the glory days. I'm friendly and ready going enough to relax into company and rub along cheerfully with anyone.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
a huge waterfall in the jungle off the end of an innocuous path, sun glinting on the surface of an isolated inlet, wreaths of cloud wrapping around a snow covered peak, dizzying glimpse of tiny people in a city miles below, huge flames from a street vendor's cooking, sunset over a village made of mud, the river Rhine in a valley miles below, so many things and I need to keep them coming.
Teach, Learn, Share
always learning and always sharing.
Culture, cuisine, the great outdoors.
I ask every guitarist I meet to show me a trick lick or top.
Never stop learning and sharing.
