My name is Kinen. I’m 32 years old and originally from Uganda 🇺🇬. I’m currently backpacking through Europe before starting my master’s degree in Politics and Public Administration this winter at the University of Konstanz in Germany 🇩🇪.

Traveling solo has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life. It’s helped me grow, pushed me outside my comfort zone, and introduced me to incredible people and places along the way 🌍✨

I’m genuinely passionate about connecting with others, especially fellow solo travelers who understand the beauty and challenges of exploring the world alone. I believe some of the best conversations happen between strangers who are open-minded and curious which is exactly the kind of connection I look for.

My background is in psychology, but I’m also fascinated by politics, culture, and human behavior. I’m easygoing, respectful, clean, and enjoy spending time in nature, hiking, going for walks, or just relaxing in green spaces 🏞️. I also love food and enjoy cooking when I get the chance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m here to meet interesting people, build genuine connections, create friendships, and share unique experiences!

I’ve always loved learning about different cultures but even more than that, I enjoy experiencing them firsthand. I’m deeply curious about how others live, and I believe there’s so much to learn about life by seeing the world through different perspectives.

One day, I’d love to be a host myself, so this is also a great opportunity for me to learn what makes a great Couchsurfing experience from the guest side.

During my travels and hostel stays, I’ve met some amazing people and made lasting friendships and now, I’m excited to explore the world of Couchsurfing!

Teach:
I can share my knowledge of psychology, mindfulness, and emotional well-being. I love deep conversations about personal growth and self-awareness. I also enjoy cooking, especially African-inspired dishes, and I’d be happy to cook a meal or share a recipe or two! If you’re curious about Ugandan culture or the region in general, I’m always happy to share stories, history, and perspectives.

Learn:
I’m eager to learn about different cultures, languages, and ways of living. I’m especially interested in how people find meaning, peace, and purpose in their daily lives. I’d also love to pick up local recipes, hiking tips, or even music recommendations from wherever I go.

Share:
I’d love to share good conversation, travel stories, and laughter. I can help out around the house, cook a meal, and respect your space and routine. Most of all, I bring openness, kindness, and curiosity wherever I go and I’m always happy to exchange ideas and experiences.
