About Me

ABOUT ME

Homeopath, pagan-ish spiritual interests (with a small 'p'), love playing and listening to music (I play electric bass). (There's a beautiful grand piano in my dining room-studio if you like to play.) Love animals - I live with a cat and a small (very friendly) dog. I love being in nature, gardening, traveling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling and visiting with travellers is mind-expanding, and good for the soul!

Interests

Other interests: Reading tarot. Knitting. Baking artisanal GF bread. (My kitchen is GF, sorry, ya'll, and I hope you can put up with it for the time you are here, but I know to some travellers this will be a healthy oasis.)

Music, Movies, and Books

These days, favorite music includes New Orleans funk as in The Meters. Kurt Vile. Really, I love so much music I'm all over the map.

Favorite books: lately, The More Beautiful World Our Hears Know is Possible, by Charles Eisenstein, and The Smell of Rain on Dust: Praise and Grief by Martín Prechtel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My most recent adventure was a solo drive across the USA, from Pittsburgh, PA to San Rafael, CA. I took two weeks, stayed with a few friends and camped in four parks where I took extra time for hiking, taking photos and just *being* there: Blue Mounds, MN; The Badlands, SD, the Black Hills (Custer State Park), and Sinks Canyon in Wyoming. The entire trip was a string of amazing adventures. One of the many amazing experiences was hiking around the Badlands at dawn. You can see trip photos here on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/40853856@N03/sets/ , including from the sunrise hike.
Update: I drove back to Pittsburgh, PA, camping again, in 2018. A little more in a hurry and dodging crazy weather, but still an exciting solo trip. One highlight: a llama galloping alongside the I-90 East in South Dakota, going my way. It looked extremely happy. (I believe it was rounded up later.)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm just happy to hang out a bit and discover common interests, or let you do your own thing. You can do whatever you like in the kitchen as long as you clean up after yourself and don't bring in gluten. My house is comfy, homey and colorful. If you like animals, you'll probably enjoy my little dudes.
