About Me
(!) Important: I am not available for dates and anything beyond. Upon such requests, I will block and flag you.
Hello everybody! :)
I'm Opal, a 20-something year-old student living in Dusseldorf, Germany.
I have a cat. I can't keep myself from thinking she is pretty dumb... But also just as cute. ♡ Her pattern makes her look like a chipmunk! :D
I will be travelling Poland from December 29th to January 4th with my lovely friend Julia (check her profile at https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/julia-lebok).
We're looking for fellow couchsurfers to host us two!
In return, we will be happy to bring a little present from our area and host you too, if you would like to visit us sometime! :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Probably for the same reason as you! :)
Ofc I love travelling more than anything else. So here I am, welcoming anybody who wants to have a comfy stay at night and an adventurous travel experience by day (and night). ;)
Let's meet to exchange our craziest stories and make even crazier ones together!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Saw a bear in a forest near Tartu, Estonia.
Was driving around with some Russians in Narva, Estonia, at night, listening to Russian music - occasionally stopping just to get out and dance to the beat drop. They called it "russian party". :D
Was sitting in the flooding rain at the Mekong river in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and felt like I was inside some pixel art. Unreal.
Pet all the street cats in Cambodia and didn't die from rabies (yay).
Was sick af on a ten-hour flight from Thailand back to Germany. Let me tell you this: It was bad, real bad. But the personnel cared for me so well, even though it's not really in their duty. I'm still thankful for that.
Couldn't find my airbnb inmidst of Seoul, South Korea, deep at night because I hadn't saved the address and my phone had died. Walked the dark alleys for hours, talked to random people. It felt unbelievably liberating. I finally found the place at 3 am.
Worked at a café in Gangneung, South Korea. Became friends with my boss and his friend so they would take me to the beach and to eat steamed sweet potatoes or sticky rice cake at the side of the highway.
Woke up from a bomb exploding close by my place at 5 am in Sulaymanya, Iraq.
I have a magic power...
Was traveling England around my 18th birthday. My best friend, who came to visit me, arrived in the middle of the night. But I was suffering from a chronic condition, which got the best of me when I went to pick her up... "I can't call an ambulance now, I am in fk England and she's waiting for me!" That's when I realised that I can control the outbursts of my condition! Poof, healed :D
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a rather acive person, so I sure hope you're energy-driven and enthusiastic! If I have the time, I will be happy to show you around.
Maybe you can teach me a bit about your country of origin, its history, culture, the people, language, arts, cuisine or just anything! I can offer you a few bits of input too!
If you could share your thoughts and experiences about any place in this world, too, that would be lovely. :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Do you want to know what happened to the bear in the Estonian forest? Or what kind of people I met in the lonely alleys inmidst a Korean metropolis? Or which magic I use to control my health condition?
I can tell you... if only you invite me to stay with you at your place! Yes, this is absolutely clickbait :D
Apart from that I can get us a pizza and we'll have a good old conversation about the good old "whatever inspires you in life". :)
