About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To do interesting stuff with interesting people.

ABOUT ME

I love traveling, exploring, being outside, volunteering... Seems like I fit in here :) At the moment, I'm living in Minneapolis and very busy with school, but making every effort to carve out time for friends.

PHILOSOPHY

I'd say I'm a pragmatic egalitarian. I love hearing different perspectives and having my beliefs and values challenged. Overall, I'm pretty agnostic about most things, so you won't find me getting offended too easily.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a few people, stayed with a few people, and am looking to get more involved with the Taipei community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed with people in a few places before I discovered the couchsurfing network (Moldova, Finland, Germany, Mexico), and since joining I've met some really amazing people.

Interests

I like to hike (and sometimes carry stuff while doing so), camp, bike around, drink things (my first word was juice), cook/bake/eat things, and sometimes, sit around on the internet or a game or the television.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lately, I've been on a self-improvement kick, and have been reading a lot of those sort of cheesy books, like "The Gift of Fear" and "Give and Take." Pretty embarrassing, but hey that's honest.

Recent:
I'm looking for more Mandarin books, music, and movies. So far I've found MC Hot Dog (who is hilarious to me), Touming Magazing (their lyrics are very easy to understand), and Echo. I'm reading 小王子 and watching 史莱克 and a made for kids cartoon version of 水浒传, which I love.

Old favorites: The Clash, Ratatat, Hitchhiker's Guide, 30 Rock, and Eat, Pray, Love.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Mountains are probably the most amazing thing I've ever seen.

The coolest thing I ever got to do was chase away black bears while backpacking. It was terrifying at the time, but it made me feel so brave!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning from everyone, especially people who are different from me. Language, culture, and science really excite me. There's nothing I don't like to talk and learn about.

I know how to crochet, if anyone wants to learn that. One of my favorite pass times is trading travel stories.

Countries I’ve Visited

Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Moldova, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Russian Federation, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Finland, Taiwan, United States
