About Me

A roller of stones and finder of snails. A kitchen singer. Enthusiastic dancer. An early morning writer. I'm very excited to explore Ireland this coming summer!

I'm a gay, trans man, which I'm guessing everyone is okay with, now that it's 2016.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like getting to know people and listening to their stories.

I'm into DIY culture, and love to hear what's good from locals.

Interests

Writing and reading sci fi and fantasy and other good stories. I love bike touring, making food for my housemates, and just hanging out and talking with close friends. Oh and singing, I love to sing with friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've been listening to traditional music group The Gloaming a lot. I also really like the music from Now I'm Fine, a Seattle-based experimental opera and Jordan O'Jordan, a Seattle singer-songwriter.

I recently fell in love with Edna O'Brien's writing through her collection The Love Object. Roddy Doyle's Paddy Clarke, Ha Ha Ha has the most amazing commitment to narrative style I've ever read.

My favorite movies are Let the Right One in and A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gone on a bike camping trip from Seattle to a town on the Olympic peninsula! I love feeling like I can get anywhere as long as I go slow enough.

In Seattle, where I live, fruit grows wild on the street. No one tends them; there's just food everywhere in the summer. It's amazing to find delicious fruit everywhere. It feels like the world is good and it's looking out for us.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach basic bicycle maintenance and basic country waltzing.

I love listening to people's stories. Most people probably have something to teach me, and I often learn things I would never have known to ask about beforehand.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to cook a meal or do some chores to help out around the house. I am handy, and can do some basic repairs around the house and basic bike maintenance. Or I'd at least like to buy you a pint if you drink or a cup of tea if you don't drink.
