ABOUT ME
Je suis interprète et traducteur (donc je traduis en direct et à l'écrit).
J'ai fait des études à Cambridge et à Genève et des stages à la Commission européenne et à la Chancellerie fédérale (gouvernement suisse).
Mes autres intérêts incluent : la politique, l'histoire, les transports publics, la linguistique. Je suis actif dans les mouvements pour le climat. J'aime faire des randonnées / du cyclisme et je sais jouer du violon, de l'alto et du piano. Je suis végétarien et je ne bois pas d'alcool (mais ça ne me dérange pas si vous ne faites pas la même chose).

I am an interpreter and translator (that makes I translate the spoken word live and the written word).
I've studied in Cambridge and Geneva and done internships at the European Commission and Federal Chancellery (Swiss government).
My other interests include: politics, history, public transport, linguistics. I am active in climate movements. I like hiking / cycling and can play the violin, viola and piano. I'm vegetarian and don't drink alcohol (but I really don't mind if you are not the same).

Ich bin Dolmetscher und Übersetzer.
Ich habe in Cambridge und Genf studiert und war Praktikant bei der Europäischen Kommission und in der Bundeskanzlei (Schweizer Regierung).
Ich interessiere mich unter anderem für: Politik, Geschichte, öffentliche Verkehrssysteme, Sprachwissenschaft. Ich bin in Klimabewegungen aktiv. Ich gehe gern wandern / Rad fahren und kann Geige, Bratsche und Klavier spielen. Ich bin Vegetarier und trinke keinen Alkohol (aber es stört mich nicht, wenn ihr da anders seid).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Quand on visite un nouvel endroit, c'est tellement plus intéressant si on connait quelqu'un pour vraiment découvrir comment on vit là au quotidien, et puis en connaissant et en partageant avec les gens on apprend des choses qu'on n'aurait pas cherchées. Je ne sais probablement rien sur tes talents ou ta profession, et en les découvrant je vais mieux comprendre comment le monde fonctionne.

When you visit a new place it is so much more interesting if you know someone to really discover what it is like to live there day in day out, and by getting to know people and sharing you learnt all sorts of things you wouldn't have looked for actively. I probably know nothing about your talents or your profession, and by discovering them I'll find out something more about how the world works.

Wenn man einen neuen Ort besucht, ist es um ein Vielfaches interessanter, wenn man jemanden kennt. So kann man wirklich den Alltag erleben. Wenn man neue Leute kennen lernt und das Leben teilt, lernt man vieles kennen, was man nie aktiv gesucht hätte. Ich weiss wahrscheinlich nichts über deine Talente oder deinen Beruf, und wenn ich sie entdecke, verstehe ich die Welt immer ein Stück besser.
