getting a life and living it
ABOUT ME
Well, where to start?
I'm a student of Cognitive Science and until recently I was an athlete in the field of artistic roller skating (precision team skating), won a bronze medal at Worlds and two bronze and a silver medal at Europeans.
My personality could be described as, I think, quite mature and grown up on the one hand but a bit crazy and definitely still a child at heart on the other - I could spend the rest of my life at Disney Land...
PHILOSOPHY
I think life should be about making the best out of the time you've been given. I try to do that. I try always to look on the bright side and find good things even in the bad things. I don't bother worrying about the future or regretting the past because there is just no use in that and makes it worse. Life goes on and whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

Music, Movies, and Books
movies: oh well, so many... from low budget independent to Hollywood blockbusters (most of all the 'Pirates'- and 'LOTR'-trilogies)
music: almost everything, depends on the mood
books: shame on me, I don't really read much... maybe '100 Years of Solitude', German book 'Buntschatten und Fledermaeuse', both parts of 'Alice in Wonderland',
many theatre plays
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My most amazing time probably was being an assistant director for a theatre production at our local theatre. It was only for six weeks but this time was magical and led me into an entirely different world. I would always go back!
Also a great thing for me is getting to compete at international championships and perform well there.
And, of course, each time I traveled abroad and met new people.
My absolute favourite trip to date is my 10-day visit to NYC last year. I got to see Meryl Streep live on stage in Central Park playing the title role in 'Mother Courage and her Children'!
I mean, it just doesn't get better than that (except for seeing Helen Mirren on stage, maybe?).
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you:
- German
- roller skating
- the neuronal pathway from the retina in the eye to the primary visual cortex
- why people with lesions in the prefrontal lobe have difficulties making themselves a peanutbutter-jelly sandwich
- having a great time out and about without any alcohol but everyone around you thinking you're totally passed out :)
What I would like to learn:
- Italian (it's urgent!)
- about theatre, movies and ballet
- drinking really strong coffee-to-go at a NYC subway station
- that the world has amazing people all over the place!
