ABOUT ME

I always feel kind of weird filling out these "about me" boxes. Well, what can I say.... I'm originally from Portland, OR in the United States. I studied at the University of Virginia where I was officially bitten by the travel bug. I've been on the move ever since...

I'm a very laid back person who's just trying to figure out my niche in the world. Day-by-day it's starting to become clearer. Until then, I'm just hanging on and enjoying the ride.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm really excited to report that I'll be hosting my first couch surfers in the coming weeks! In addition to hosting, I also attend various CS events held in the area...and an shamelessly promoting the site to anyone I can find with open ears and an open mind.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never done this before. I learned about couchsurfing through some friends of mine and thought I'd just give it a try. They've had awesome experiences with it...so I though I would try my luck. =D

Languages, American Politics, futball, reading, NBA basketball, photography, my blog, making new friends, my family, surfing (still have yet to learn but REALLY want to)............honestly the list grows and grows everyday. As previously mentioned, I'm a perma-student and LOVE learning about new things, new people, new places, new cultures.

Musica, film e libri

As far as music goes, I'm a self-proclaimed "old soul". I like music my parents listened to when they were growing up....however not all of it! =P

My favorite music is R&B (and some hip hop depending on the artist)...but I like (or can tolerate depending on how you look at it) most types. It seems as though only a select few of my friends share my affection for "Ritmo y Blues".

Instead of listing off everything I like, I'll just list off 5 random artists/groups in the my Ipod:

Books: Again, I'm not going make a write a long list of books to demonstrate how "well-read" I am (or lack there of depending on your point of view). I like to read...fiction or non-fiction as long as it's interesting. My favorite book I've read = Roots by Alex Haley.

Movies: I love movies. A lot. While I like some "mainstream" movies, I don't really like a good portion of the mind-numbing crap Hollywood tries to force feed us. I like good, quality movies. I like movies that make me laugh...but without trying too hard. I like movies that make me cry. I love dramas. In general, I like movies that make me think.
