Interessi

I like having lots of time in which to ponder time and waste time and feel at ease with time and propelled by time - not all the time, but some of the time. Interesting conversation, books and adventures. I like places where mountains descend into the sea. I like dusk and distances and woodsmoke in foreign countries.

Motorbiking in northern Thailand, and the smell of the mountain jungle there. Staring out at the frozen Volga river one Christmas. Going to university in Nottingham - I thought it was 'the third Rome' (I was eighteen).
