ABOUT ME

I recently arrived back in Seattle after living in Central America building fuel-efficient stoves. Now I'm doing graphic design and marketing for an architecture firm here in the city. Also, skiing, climbing, backpacking, playing outdoors really, as much as I can.

PHILOSOPHY

Northwest-raised.

"It is a landscape in a minor key. A sketchy panorama where objects, both organic and inorganic, lack well-defined edges and tend to melt together in a silver-green blur. Great islands of craggy rock arch abruptly up our of the flats, and at sunrise and moonrise these outcroppings are frequently tangled in mist. Eagles nest on the island crowns and blue herons flap through the veils from slough to slough. It is a poetic setting, one which suggests inner meanings and invisible connections. A visitor experiences the feeling that he has been pulled into a Sung dynasty painting, perhaps before the intense wisps of mineral pigment have dried upon the silk."

I host when I'm at home, trying to show off Seattle and get people to see it's way more than rain.

When I'm traveling, the local connections and awesome people I meet offer so much more than any guidebook ever could.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Meeting new travelers around the world, hosting lots and traveling lots.

I'm pretty much amazed by most things.

I love to climb and bike, so if you come stay with me, we can go do either. We can get in free to the climbing gym down the road, and I have extra gear you can use, so we can certainly get up on the wall. If it's a weekend and sunny (or even not sunny), we can take a short road trip to one of the local crags.

If you like hiking and have some boots, I can show you my favorite hikes out in the mountains. If you like skiing, we can do that also.

Also, if you want to go look for apples with me around the neighborhood, we can press cider in the backyard.
