ABOUT ME

Hi, My name is Owain (pronounced like Owen) but with the Welsh spelling due to my super cool heritage. I'm a guy in my 20s whose lived in China for the past two years, and am currently living with my girlfriend in Beijing's Chaoyang district. I have many passions including travel, photography, music, books and conversation. I'd say my current objective in life is to learn as much as I can and experience life from all different perspectives, be inspired by people's stories, ideas, opinions, and eventually use all this to take over the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Trying my best to not hold any definitions about anything, taking each thing as it is and trying to ignore any rules, preconceptions or stereotypes about what anything "should" be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By hosting and helping my girlfriend do the dishes after she makes lovely dinner for the couchsurfers, whilst simultaneously entertaining them with my British wit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met many couchsurfers recently and I'd say the best experiences I've had is just sitting round a table with soom food and a few beers, background music, and just chatting about anything from travel stories to throwing kettles over pubs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dancing and singing a full version of DMX's "Party Up" at a house party to the sheer amazement of aghast onlookers. I can do that for you if I like you very much.

Teach:

Mandarin Chinese from a British perspective (if there is such use for thing!) Guitar.

Learn: More languages! More instruments! Flying.
