About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Researching the human nervous system, surviving, trying to make others survive.

ABOUT ME

I'm usually easy to get along with. I like to get to know people, understand their viewpoints and compare how they see the world to how I see it. I like to debate interesting subjects.
I'm really sociable, in fact I only enjoy life, when there is someone around to enjoy it with. With good company I'm easy to laugh.
I try not to care about what people think about me or my thoughts, and I'm getting pretty good at it:).
I'm on a constant journey around my thoughts, searching for answers for questions usually unsolvable, or just dreaming up interesting solutions for the world's problems, or just daydreaming:).
I'm trying to get to know myself better, push my limits further, evolve, give up a little bit of comfort.
I try to keep a distance from television, radio, newspapers, and any kinds of news, that not affect me personally. I found that it does not add to my level of happiness, if I know more about what's going on around the world. Still, I hear more than I want to hear.
I don't like economy and politics.
I don't like people, who complain about ridiculously small things, and don't see all the good things that surround us.
I love debating interesting subjects.
I love hitchhiking. Along with CS, it gave me back my hope in humanity.

PHILOSOPHY

I just want to get away from the ordinary life I've lived so far, and try new things, get to know people, be more spontaneous, and not care so much if not everything goes as planned, or not everything is so comfortable. Also I try to stay open to everything, and find what is good in this world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had my share of surfing and hosting too. I enjoy both equally.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed in Vienna three times:
1. Roger and Christine
2. Max, Stefan and Jonas
3. Bernhard and Simon
Couldn't have found better hosts to start my couchsurfer 'carrier', I think.
Then I had a great time with Aleš in Prague.
And I got hosted several times during my western european trip. It was amazing.

Along with my (unfortunately now former) roommate Imi, I hosted a lot of people in Szeged.

Interests

Music, friends, travelling, science, reading, music, movies, understanding people (I'm really interested to find out about the way others think, what kind of people they are), music, cultures, and did I mention music?:)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: American Beauty above all, Adams æbler, Fight Club, and I'm a big fan of science fiction films and series (for example: Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who, Stargate). Other favourites: Children of Men, Ghost in the Shell 1,2, all Monty Python's stuff,The Matrix, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pan's Labyrinth, Before Sunrise/Sunset/Midnight, Twelve Monkeys, Mulholland Drive, Amelie, Waking Life, Never Let Me Go, Intouchable, Stardust, Hot Fuzz, Pulp Fiction, 99 francs, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Black Swan, 21 Grams, The IT Crowd, True Detective...I could go on forever. I mostly like films that make me think, or move me, but I can also enjoy movies that just make me relax. I really like, when a movie takes me far away, and lets me escape reality for a while.

Music is one of the most important thing in my life. I love listening to music, I love speaking about music, I love searching for the perfect music, discovering new, incredible sounds, fantastic bands, and I also love playing my guitar (even though I'm not the best at is). I like almost all kinds of genres, from the softness of ambient and electronic, through the coolness of jazz to the rough complexity of death metal. Todays I prefer underground bands, as they tend to be breaver and they create music they like, for their own amusement, not for money. In my opinion music is art, so it must be selfish and non-comformist to be true. Listing all my favourites would take quite a long time, and the list would probably go out of date in a week, so just some examples: Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson, Jimi Hendrix, King Crimson, Emerson Lake & Palmer, The Kilimanjaro Darjazz Ensemble, Kammerflimmer Kollektief, Hidden Orchestra, Mazzy Star, Brian Eno, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Lou Reed, David Bowie, Opeth, Death, Cynic, Nile, Meshuggah, Emperor, System of a Down, Burial, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Plastikman, Lulu Rouge, Lamb, Dead Can Dance, Lunatic Soul, Red Snapper, The Dwindlers, Soulsavers, Soap & Skin, Alice in Chains, Pain of Salvation, Björk, Sigur Rós, Madrugada, Bohren & Der Club of Gore, Miles Davis, Queen, Radiohead, Esbjörn Svensson Trio.

Book: Nowadays unfortunately I don't have time to read as much as I want. Some of my favourites: The Lord of the Rings, the Dune series, The Foundation series, Harry Potter books, Brave New World, The Master and Margarita, Neuromancer, Count Zero, Mona Lisa Overdrive, anything from Kurt Vonnegut, The Neverending Story, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, and again, I could go on forever. I also enjoy poems (my recent favourite is Howl by Allen Ginsberg), and the way they can grab you with their pictures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm...I don't really know what to write here...Sometimes the smallest thing can amaze me, like some random sight on a street I've walked through million times before, without feeling anything special. But in a certain mood somehow certain (otherwise ordinary) moments seem special...I don't know.
One thing that always amazes me: hitchhiking. The feeling I get, when somebody stops to pick me up...the generosity of people is always fantastic to me.
I hitchhiked around Western Europe, that was a pretty big thing for me.
Once I hitchhiked from the window of a car, while travelling on a motorway, and got a ride. The couple who took me also hosted me for that night. This kind of incredible kindness is the most amazing thing I can imagine.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I studied to be a doctor, so I have some knowledge about health and illnesses, particularly neurology, as it interests me, and also physiology (especially neuroscience). I can play the guitar. I have the ultimate knowledge of making a really bad tea (I haven't found any way of making this invaluable skill useful, but if you want to learn, I can give lessons).

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Tunisia
