ABOUT ME

I am half-Swedish and half-Australian. I was born and raised in Mackay, QLD, Australia and moved to Sweden in 2004 where I attended highschool for 1 year and then went on to uni to become a teacher in English, Swedish and Social Studies. During the summers of 2007 and 2008, I worked in Norway and Denmark and in 2009, I lived in Tanzania for over 2 months and also in Poland for 2½ years. Now I live in Sweden with my Czech wife, Bára, and our three-year-old daughter.

PHILOSOPHY

"Pure self-confidence" is my slogan.
Also, instead of pushing people down around you, pull everyone up with you on your way to the top.
And for the drinkers, who you become when you drink is who you really are, so don't blame anything you do on the booze. ;)

I love hosting people and have had good experiences, but I would really love to travel more and meet other hosts. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted people in Sweden and in Poland and I have been hosted in several different places around the world.

TRAVELLING of course! And the best travelling is with my wife, Bára, who I have travelled with to a dozen or so countries and will travel to even more soon. I also love adventures and challenging myself. I love learning languages, too.

Firstly, you should know that I sing The Circle of Life every day. I love that song!

But some of my favourite artists are Missy Higgins, Gurrumul Yunupingu, Tupac, Veronica Maggio, Ali Kiba, Xavier Naidoo, Matchbox 20, The Fray, Myslovitz, the Temptations, etc. But I don't discriminate. ;)

Books: Hermann (Norwegian), To Kill a Mockingbird, Ondskan (Swedish), the Hobbit, Angels of the Universe, Life of Pi, Angela's Ashes, the Little Prince, Long Walk to Freedom (Nelson Mandela), Out of Africa.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I ran naked once with a Swedish flag through the centre of Oslo, Norway at 8 on a Saturday night for a dare and won 650kr.
I also dressed up as a Maasai in the centre of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania just for fun.
It was hilarious!

教，学，和分享

I have been a teacher for a few years but the best teachers are also learners. I want to understand people better and I want to become better at dealing with people.
What I can teach is understanding for diversity.
