I'm an NHS podiatrist working in London - but I'm moving this summer to the wonderful city of Manchester in the North of England - I'm planning a big cycle to Hamburg as my last big holiday before I get back in to career mode...

PHILOSOPHY

Travelling teaches you very little on its own - its who you meet that causes you to learn.
Also: Use a bike when ever possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Other than sleeping on peoples couches when on hitchhiking adventures round my native Scotland, I've not really done too much couch surfing really....
However, as a hitchhiker, I know how important it is for people to help each other out.

I'm currently between jobs in and am moving from London to Manchester - so I wont be able to host until September when I get my flat sorted and have started my new contract - when that has passed I will be happy to host and let people use one of my spare bikes to explore the wonderful city of Manchester!

Interests

The usual stuff, music, art, ect, but in a big way: Bicycles. I love my bike.
Also vegetarianism and hitchhiking.

Music: Old school hip hop (De La Soul, Public enemy, ATCQ, that kind of thing), chilled electronic music, the pixies, pavement. Really I would be writing all day if I covered it all....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Conducted a qualitative study into Nepalese health beliefs regrading foot disease in leprosy.
3 months in the jungle talking through a translator. One of the craziest things I've ever done....
