About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Reintegrate into life in Scotland after 9 years abroad! In the final stages of a Masters and enjoying the challenge of a new role as a Support for Learning Teacher.

ABOUT ME

Originally from a small community in the Highlands (2 other people in my class at Primary School) I qualified as a PE teacher and decided I would travel and see a bit more of the world. 3 continents and 9 years later I am finally back home in Edinburgh and looking forward to trying to settle down and make a life here as a fully functioning adult.

I would say I am positive, relaxed, easy going and always up for giving new things a go. As long as people are warm and friendly then I can guarantee we will get along! I look forward to meeting lots of these people in the near future.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is to live life to the full and help create a society built on trust, respect and social equality. Although I am not religious I do believe in Karma and always try to spread kindness and happiness wherever possible!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Through my sister's positive experience couchsurfing, my family hosts couch surfers, who I often meet and show around. I have couchsurfed around the US and was amazed at the generosity and warmth I experienced. I also went along to some events in Bangkok which was a great way to meet some amazing people. I hope to continue this both hosting, surfing and attending events in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met quite a large number of people involved in couch surfing and have been amazed and enthused by their postive, pro-active approach to life and generous and open they are.

Interests

I have many diverse and differing interest but being a PE teacher I love the challenge and social nature of sport and games. I enjoy cards, football, tennis, running and also am an avid discgolfer. If you havn't tried it you should!

Music, Movies, and Books

Love listening to music from places, Soca in Port of Spain, Jazz in New Orleans and Traditional Celtic Fusion here in Scotland. Only music i'd say I really couldn't get along with is the K-POP in Korea!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once played a round of random doubles disc golf in a thunderstorm in Dallas, it rained for the first time in over two months and wow did it rain. Me and my 65 year old partner got soaked through and played for two hours in the dark with only the occasional lightning bolt illuminating us. By the end of the round we were soaked through and I was invited to stay at my new friends house!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my interests and experiences, I make some pretty mean pancakes and am a keen card player.
