Paddle the Mississippi River to raise money for Haiti

ABOUT ME

WE are a group of eight dedicated travelers who are planning to canoe the Mississippi River in order to raise money to help rehabilitate the partially destroyed nation of Haiti. We will begin the trip in the headwaters of the Mississippi in northern Minnesota and travel all the way down to Southern Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico.

Along the way, we plan to stop in towns and cities to meet people, hold fundraising events such as BBQs, open mike nights, participate in fall festivals, sell some of our logo merchandise and also rest and refuel ourselves.

What we need:
Anyone who can offer any kind of advice, lodging, food, connections (local papers, town festivals, local businesses etc.) or anything else that could help defray our costs so that we may donate as much money as possible to where it is needed the most. One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Among the eight of us, we have all done some amazing things. Under our collective belt, we have two thru-hikes of the Appalachian Trail, a bicycle trip from Atlanta to Key West, a bicycle trip from Atlanta to San Diego, a total of 10 years spent living in other countries and visits to many more.
