About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live in as many different places as I can.

ABOUT ME

I'm a recent graduate with a degree in International Affairs and have decided to say goodbye to everyone and everything I know, buy a one way ticket to New Zealand, and start over!

Fall of 2010 I spent a semester studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic and I haven't been able to recover from the travel bug since! I love living in a foreign country and making it my home. I've also spent a semester in Cape Town, South Africa, a month in Armenia, and another semester in Bali, Indonesia.

I love to travel and meet new people, the majority of my closest friends I have met through traveling. I love trying new food, hiking, reading, learning the history of places I am traveling too, and getting out of my comfort zone.

PHILOSOPHY

"“Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends."
-Maya Angelou

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm looking to meet new people and hopefully make some new friends!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed through a friend before and had a great time, and I used it to meet travelers in Bali which was great.

Interests

Traveling (obviously), concerts, hiking, biking, reading historical non-fiction, going out on the weekends, basketball, and enjoying being in my 20s without too many responsibilities.

Music, Movies & Books

Books: Historical non-fiction, usually related to the country/area I'm living in and the classics like anything by Jane Austen, Gone With the Wind, etc. Books you are force to read in high school basically

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Spent the day being shown around the Valley of 1000 Hills in South Africa with someone who was working at the hostel I was staying at. He had me jump off a cliff and stand underneath a waterfall and scream at hte top of my lungs. We then went to his mothers home, where his mom cooked me pasta and beans and I ate lunch with him while watching R. Kelly music videos. One of the most random days of my life
