About Me
Hi! I'm paige! (: I left my home city of Gresham, OR on Oct 6th to hope to hitchhike from Portland, OR to Portland, ME; made it to Eugene, stayed for a couple weeks, and now I'm ready to hit the road again
Plan to hitchhike around the states for a few months, stopping plenty along the way and taking ample detours to get the most out of the journey
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've entered a new period in my life after recently exiting a six year long relationship, and I'm not sure where my place is. I realized that staying in Oregon wasn't working for a number of reasons, so I decided to do something absolutely bonkers instead
I plan to hitchhike through the states and am using Couchsurfing to hopefully find people to stay with as I travel city to city! Would love it if you showed me around your town, or maybe we could go hiking or camping! :D
I also prefer to sleep outside in my tent, so if you have a backyard and you'll let me set up there, that would be great! Also totally happy sleeping on the couch; I'm not picky! :p

Music, Movies, and Books
My music kinda varies week by week and by the moods I'm in. Been listening to a lot of Sufjan Stevens recently! I have my little playlists that I switch between :p
My favorite movie of all time is Ghost In the Shell. Just so perfect. The soundtrack, the color work, the plot...it's amazing. I also really love Nimona, Spirited Away, and countless others that I can never remember 😅
I haven't been in a reading mood recently, but when I am I tend to read fiction and Sci-fi. My favorite book has to be A Boy and his Dog at the End of the World! Definitely gives a sense of and fuels my wanderlust and sense of adventure :p
I also really enjoyed Wild by Cheryl Strayed! Absolutely a goal of mine to hike the PCT (and the triple crown in general) at some point in my life!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Gosh, I'm not really sure. College was pretty dang challenging, though I'm not sure I'd call it an amazing accomplishment for myself
I guess I've been to Yellowstone twice now, and by golly if that isn't the most beautiful place I've ever laid eyes on. My grandparents actually used to work in Yellowstone: My grandfather was a teacher and my grandmother ran one of the lodges for a time
Teach, Learn, Share
Absolutely love learning about people, hearing about their lives, their struggles, triumphs, challenges. Goals. Dreams. The world can feel isolating at times, I find. It's often hard for me to find community or friends, and I think that's why it's all the more important to make these brief but meaningful connections as much and often as possible!
I guess I can teach you how to hitchhike or pitch a tent, but I have a feeling most of you already know how. I can also walk you through some basic yoga poses! :D
I'm a decent enough cook and would be happy to prepare meals for or with you as well ^^
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer you my perspectives, experiences, and challenges in life. The stories that I'll gather as I travel across the US
I also have pretty good movie and show recommendations! So if you need any of those or just want to show me what sorts of things you're into, I'd be totally down!
I'd also be happy to cook and help with chores or any errands that need doing. I have a strong belief and philosophy in leaving any place I go in a better place than how I found it. In nature, this usually means picking up a doggy bag's worth of trash, but for you maybe this is tightening your cooking pots/pans, cleaning up the shed, mowing the lawn, whatever needs to be done (:
It's incredibly important for me to give back in any way I can ❤️
