Hi! My name is Paige. I am a 23 year old traveling enthusiast. My boyfriend Sage (pictured in many photos; 24 years old) and I love getting away from our hometown in Iowa and exploring all of the amazing things nature has to offer. In the last 4 years we have been able to do that many times but, of course, never enough :P We're both vegan and love animals so of course we love being able to travel with our 30lb Cocker Spaniel, Minnie, (also pictured) whenever possible. She is 5 years old and going blind so we hate leaving her with other people while we travel. We're an easy going couple and easily fit in anywhere with any crowd. We would love to learn about cultures and history in the towns we visit as well (and I would like to learn Spanish--I know very little), but honestly we're pretty much up for anything :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We want to experience the places we go, not just visit. We think this is an awesome way to get in touch with people who know the most about the places we want to travel to. Hearing some of the stories that are told from other couch surfing experiences make it seem like the perfect fit for us.

Interests

We love nature and being outside (hiking, camping, swimming, ect), but what we love most about that is finding almost untouched places to get away from others and actually experience the places we come across. I enjoy the ocean and beaches while Sage prefers the forest and mountains, but we do find common ground in places like the pacific northwest. Along with that we also enjoy a little city life as well. We like learning new things about the places we visit, so museums and historical sights are welcomed! Getting out to enjoy the nightlife in bigger cities or small run down bars is alright with us too. As I said before we are very flexible and our interest range is very large, so we welcome any new experience we can get.

Music, Movies, and Books

We will listen to anything from rock and roll to country music. I love horror movies and Sage likes action movies. I like crime thriller and romance books and Sage prefers books with the topic of nature. He loves John Muir.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think one of the most amazing things we both have done was hike to Gold Bug Hot Springs (pictured in photos) on our two week road trip to Oregon and California. This was not only a challenging hike (due to elevation and incline), but also one of the most beautiful places I have seen in my life. It was well worth the hike and something I will not forget any time soon.
