About Me

CURRENT MISSION

be a good human

ABOUT ME

I love to be alone, until I am around interesting people.
I prefer listening/watching to talking/showing.
Some days I need adventure, some days I prefer to be ordinary.
Sometimes I want to take a million pictures and sometimes I just want to be in the moment. I'm happy to be outdoors climbing, diving, running, picnicking, or taking pictures. Or indoors cooking, doing yoga, watching great films, or drinking well.

I'm a huge fan of art in all forms and will always say yes to great music. I drink in museums of culture, art, science, or history. A good day in a new city involves lots of walking around, delicious food, and meeting open-minded alternative types.

PHILOSOPHY

There is always room for ice cream.

Music, Movies, and Books

Vonnegut, Kerouac, Hemingway, Miller, Huxley, Steinbeck, Thompson, Plath, Wilde, Kipling, Nabakov, Kundera, Marquez, Bryson. Most recent moving read is Patti Smith's memoir "Just Kids".

Independent movies with tragic or comic wit, culturally sensitive documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to a telescope convention and looked through incredible home-made equipment at far away galaxies, planets, and stars. Then I met a real-life wizard.

I witnessed clients with severe and chronic mental illness begin to make changes to their life skills they didn't believe were possible.

I breathed underwater and overcame my fear of deep water by scuba diving and got certified in Thailand.

Do what's right. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest. -Mark Twain
