To boldly go where I've never been before, meet excellent people, eat lots of good food, drink all kinds of drinks, and see the places where my family has been before me.

ABOUT ME

I'm a traveller, and at least for now I have no permanent home base. But whenever I do have a place to stay I prefer to share it than stay alone.
I am looking for adventure, though I have found that it´s not too hard to find, you just got to be able to embrace it once it has found you.
I love the outdoors, but the more I travel the more I realize that the place I am in comes second to the people I am sharing it with.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is not only a gift but an obligation to live as well, and experience as much, as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just found out about this yesterday, and while I have no direct experience I've already heard great things about it!

Interests

I'd rather be a craftsman than an artist and thus any practical knowledge of anything relating to craft interests me; from baking, to blacksmithing, to carving, to farming.

Music, Movies, and Books

Watching movies is one of my favourite things to do to relax. If I have the time and the money, I will always go out to the movies, or go rent one, or whatever.My first introduction to music was the Beatles, classic rock, and folk music from all over the world. And so that is the type of music that I will always enjoy. I like all sorts of music and I am always interested in learning more. For the last four years I have been living in the Appalachian Mountains of the eastern U.S. and because of that I have developed a love for Bluegrass and country music. As far as books are concerned:I love them. I have more books than anything else. Whenever I move (which is often) my friends tell me to get rid of some books, and I do, but I still have boxes of them, and one day I will build myself a proper library. The last book to have a profound impact on my life was ¨A Language Older Than Words¨ by Derrick Jensen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Arizona it doesn't rain very much so when it does it is always a good thing. But the first rains of the monsoon season, just at the end of summer, are the most spectacular of the year. There's incredible thunder and lightning and it rains several inches in a half hour! Anyway theres this one mountain near where I lived (called Cathedral Rock) and when the monsoons come so much rain falls that when the water pours off the red sandstone rock temporary waterfalls appear all over the mountain. Some of the waterfalls are so big that they shoot out 5-10 feet (1-3 meters)before they go down.
Every year that I am around when that happens, I hop on my bike, or run as fast as I can through the pouring rain to the base of the mountain and then I climb to the first waterfall that I can find and keep going from one waterfall to the next, until the water stops pouring off the rocks. It is the most exhilarating, refreshing, magical experience that I have ever had. Though I haven't been back in Arizona for the monsoon rains in a long time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a bit about wilderness survival. I've gone to massage school and I am certified. I've got some classical art schooling and I've got some experience at it.I love good food and learning how to cook it.
