About Me

CURRENT MISSION

m"£%&£$&$ $£% ...?

ABOUT ME

I like to picture myself as a sort of a "sponge": I absorb, absorb, absorb... then I'll be so full that you have to trow me away to get a new one! Well, the point was something like absorbing=learning and bla-bla-bla: I'm getting bored myself!! :)
I like almost.. everything, or better, before saying: "i like it", I need to try it.

I love to wake up early in the morning, taking long walks on the beach: I love fresh morning air.

I used to be very shy, but I understand that wouldn't work... ! Now I'm more easy going, sometimes too direct: I like you? I just tell you! I hate you? See you tomorrow!
(TRANSLATING: I'm still shy but I (try to) pretend not to be!!)

So, now, when I "hit" an "interesting character" along the streets I just try to chit chat a bit! Expecialy with old people! I love talking with very old people! I know (I've taken care of old, sick people in the past) they really love to talk (and rarely someone, even family members, cares about it) and I really love to hear their stories: in some way they are my best teachers.

I like summer rain. And fog. A lot.

PHILOSOPHY

Whenever you cross someone eyes give back a sincere smile.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've discovered CS when I was travelling in Bangkok: had a greattime. Not so much but I've got some experiences both on the two sides (host and surfer): more than positive. Everytime.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In Bangkok, slept at the best bar around: "The Overstay" with the very best hosts Yu Sing and Yuval.

Had a day-walk (soo hot in Bkk!!) with Yu and the other CS Heymi to the Chao Phraya river: one of the best beer ever sitting&chilling on the river.

Had a great dinner with Tum and his friends in a really nice place.

Try it in Hiroshima but with no luck. (yes, I've sent a couch request just the day before...) :P

Hosted Elena and learned all the "tips&tricks" from a very well-experienced hitchhiker.

CS in Michal nice and cozy house in London. Great food & superb host. We enjoyied a really good play together (Warhorse) and a "quite bizzare" contemporary dance show! Plus London in October was really beautiful (and warm!).

Music, Movies, and Books

/movies
Recently I can't stop (re)watching Norwegian Wood. Then Kubrik's ones, all. "Lost in translation" (I love that movie most because of Lance Acord photography), "Amarcord" (and Fellini filmography..), movies starring the great Tina Pica, Ugo Tognazzi, Alberto Sordi, Vittorio Gassman,..., movies by Wes Anderson. "Clerks 1 & 2"(Kevin Smith at his best), "High Fidelity" (Jack Black character kickass!), "Diarios de motocicleta" (what an incredible soundtrack), Broken Flowers, and so many others..

/Music
Radiohead (of course), Pink Floyd (of course!), Giorgio Gaber (sure!), Beatles, Franco Battiato, Fabrizio De Andre', David Bowie, Air, Depeche Mode, Capsule ...

/Books
This is hard.
Let start with Haruki Murakami and Tiziano Terzani's books. All.
Then, "Iron heel"(Jack London), "The pickwick papers" and "David Copperfield" (C. Dickens), "Macbeth" (Shakespeare), "The lord of the rings" (Oh yeah!), "Blue highways" (William Least Heat-Moon), "White apples" (Jonathan Carroll), " Slaughterhouse five" (Kurt Vonnegut), Italo Calvino's books, "La leggenda dei monti naviganti" (Paolo Rumiz will show you a beautiful, old, "soon to be forgotten" Italy)

/Theatre
I've seen, recently (oct 2010), the wonderful play "Warhorse" in London: a really powerful experience. Those puppets, I say this: are alive!

/VG
Another World, Starcraft, Half Life 2, Ico & Shadow of the colossus

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can laugh hard on my own jokes. While anyone else can't!!
A real talent.

Teach, Learn, Share

A Good way to prepare you feet for long walks (and even to take care of painful blisters):

take daily feet bath with:

-cold (frozen!) water
-salt
-vinager

Keep your feet inside cold water mix for half an hour: it's hard atthe beginning, painful! But you'll have "blister proof" feet!
