About Me

The world today is so different. Sleeping in a stranger's house was completely out of the question where and when I came from. Today the opportunity to do that makes a little travel adventure much more available to me. I have friends and family scattered across several states from coast ot coast.

I lived in Hawaii on the Big Island for 18 years and in Florida for the last 7 years. I like Yoga and murder mysteries.

I have been making baskets from natural fibers common in tropical climes for 25 years. I am happiest when I am making a basket or crafting. Lately I have been looking into crafting by recycling or repurposing materials.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

. Though I like a bit of adventure my retirement income won't support much travel so I was surprised and excited to find this kind of networking. Brilliant!

Interests

I learned Reevaluation Counseling over 20 years ago. Recently I have begun co-counseling again. So I will be looking for co-counselors wherever I go.

Lately I have been watching Rachel Maddow on you tube . I want to develope a more current political perspective. So I surf You Tube for commentaries and documentaries that I think will be meaningful .

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a wide variety of music from rythms that excite dance to tibetan bells and healing tones I have found on You tube. Carlos Nakai is a favorite. Grand Canyon Trilogy. And once in a while I listen to "classical" music but have no real familiarity with composers or performers. I grew up with a few pieces that never fail to give me pleasure . Scheherazade, some of the movements from the Nut Cracker Suite, Tchaikovsky's Concerto #1 in E Flat minor, Gershwin's Rapsody in Blue, and Big Band Era music.

I like well done sci-fi and fantasy movies like the Golden Compass, or Alien, or Blade Runner, Enemy Mine. I like eccentric characters and settings like the Joan Hess Maggody mysteries or anything Sherlock, or Poirot. Another mystery favorite for me is a BBC series An Unsuitable Job for a Woman, and a favorite author is Stieg Larson, The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo. I have read the Tolkien Hobbit Trilogy at least three times listened to the audio books and watched all the movies several times.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can not think of anything amazing that I have done. But I think I have done alot of interesting things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good Conversation. Appreciation.
