About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Life is not a dress rehersal, so welcome each day as it comes and enjoy it.

ABOUT ME

Ray and I are newly married and both of us are active people with a wide variety of interests. I myself have travelled quite a bit over the past 20 years, am a very creative person. I have been teaching for over 25 years and a few years ago trained to teach people with specific learning difficulties eg dyslexia. My partner Ray is a retired dentist and enjoys similar interest to me. Ray loves tennis. We have taken up Nordic Walking and also taking part in 10 km walking marathons. When we travel, we love to learn as much as we can about the country we are in.

I have two married daughters and three grand daughters. Ray has three adult children and five grandchildren.

PHILOSOPHY

The people we meet make up our tapestry of life which is woven from many colours.

We hope to use Couch surfing when I travel in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Music, Movies, and Books

We both like all kinds of music from classical to jazz. Books, we read a lot of non-fictional books and as for the movies, we don't go very often but when we do we like to see a deep and meaningful ones. The last movie Ray and I saw was 'Mao's Last Dancer' - very moving.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Giving birth to two fantastic daughters. I loved my trip to Lappland, the Ice Hotel and to the market in Jokkmok. The dog sled trip on the river was fantastic. Dressing up as a Japanese princess in Kyoto with many layers of clothes. Fire walking on New Years Eve two years ago - I made it with only a little blister!

Marrying Ray.

Teach, Learn, Share

What a great beginning - the CouchSurfing University. What could be better than sharing, teaching and learning. They say that when the pupil is ready, the teacher appears!
