I am originally from India and have been living in southern California since 2008. I am working in the pharmaceutical industry, and I prefer being outdoors and traveling as much as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I initially joined to meet new people and find other solo travelers to explore new destinations. Recently I have been using couchsurfing as a way to find local events hosted by surfers when I am on business travel. That way I atleast spend an evening meeting locals and getting to know a new city/country even if it's for a brief period while I travel for work. I generally like this platform since typically it's a community of open and welcoming people and I hope to offer the same to fellow travelers.

Interests

I enjoy long roadtrips, visiting national parks hiking and camping. I enjoy learning about local culture and history when I visit new cities and countries. I do try to carry my photography gear on solo trips and try and chase that "perfect shot".

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a fan of most music styles, but generally prefer classic rock most of the time. I did use to play guitar and hopefully someday will get back to it. Huge fan of Dire Straits, Rush, Audioslave, Metallica, Scorpions.

I am trying to read / listen to more non-fiction these days and try and learn something new and interesting regularly.

Swept in the Marvel wave, love all the superhero movies and movies by Nolan and Fincher.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My favourite roadtrip has been driving cross-country across US, back and forth from California to New York taking two different routes.
