To meet different people of course! Learn about their lives and share with them what my life is life.
Traveling hostels can be fun for sure, but sometimes they are too busy to find people to have a meaningful extended interaction with. When couchsurfing it's nice having a more personal experience. Also you get to see a place from a different perspective, which is especially helpful in some of the places that don't immediately stand out with tons of things to do.
