CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is just living in DC, trying to pay rent! In the most short-term and basic sense. Other missions include using my life to do something that benefits people, having a good time for myself, and reading a lot. Laissez les bon temps roulez!

ABOUT ME

I am from southern Louisiana, but I have lived on the East Coast for 6 years now. Different worlds! And I love hosting and staying with people from different worlds.

PHILOSOPHY

If I had a hammer, I'd smash patriarchy, racism, homophobia, neoliberalism, and classism! Also, laissez les bons temps roulez while I'm at it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Once I basically picked up someone off the street and had him stay with me. He was coming to DC to stay with his family but couldn't get in touch with them so asked to use my phone. I'm not sure exactly what his family situation was, but he couldn't get anyone to answer so I just let him stay at my house and he ended up being one of the more interesting people I've met. This probably wasn't the safest decision of my life but getting to know him was so interesting, I'm glad I trusted him and did it!

I like to read a lot, I read a good deal of poetry as well as fiction. I should read more nonfiction to educate myself!
