ABOUT ME

I live in Launceston, Tasmania (basically the best bit of Australia if ever you are down this way) I work in LGBTIQ community development. I play in a band. I write poetry and fiction (I know, I'm a wanker), I draw pictures and I look at pictures and I faff at a high level.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

People are cool and I like them. I'm on couch surfing because places are nothing without the people who live in them! I want to meet you and hear about what you love (and hate) about the places that you live in.

Interests

I think we'd be here all day if I were to list all my interests and no one wants that :) But big ones at the moment are art, politics, loud thrashy music and also quiet, pretty music, writing, short fiction, poems written by people that are still alive.

Also, I love to drink good cider, decent wine and cheap beer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music of all varieties and one of my favourite things ever is being introduced to new music so if you want to do a bit of sharing on this I'd be so happy! The White Stripes have a special place in my heart as the band that got me into popular music when I was a spring chicken. New favourite bands include Speedy Ortiz and anything influenced by Black Sabbath.

Right now I have a big obsession with short fiction and love Miranda July's No One Belongs Here More Than You.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Srinigar in Kashmir a few years ago. It remains one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I've never seen anything quite like it.
