About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find out what I am going to do in my "second life". Help and suggestions are welcome!!!!!

ABOUT ME

I divide my life into two parts. In the first I cared about money and career. Then I found out was not making me happy. So I started a new one!!!! It is never too late to follow your dreams, and making new friends and see new places and cultures is one of them.
If you are reading this profile, I hope one day our paths will cross; otherwise... HAVE A NICE LIFE!!!!!

PHILOSOPHY

I would like to see the world moving in a different direction. I believe that to give love and receive love is what human beings really need. Building your life around values (respect, sincerity, solidarity, etc) is the best way to establish pleasant relationships.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, surfing, talking to my friends and encouraging them to join the community

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In the last few years I have not been active, even if I participated to some CS events in different places. But in the past it has been very nice to host people I never met and make new friends. Also, whenever I have been host, I realized how much amazing CS is: it gives you the opportunity to really get to know the place you are travelling to, discovering amenities that are not on the "normal-tourist" route, participate in social events with locals... indeed a true dive into the place you are travelling to.

Interests

I have so many that I find it hard to summarize... I love to spend time with nice people, have a drink and talk about whatever comes to our minds. I love playing piano, enjoy sports in general, going to the beach and spend time in sunny, warm weather. I enjoy yoga and meditation (I am an instructor of MBSR, Mindfulness-based stress reduction, a 8-weeks course to reduce stress).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love many kind of music, and dancing too. I like to hear pop and rock, jazz, and sometimes classic music. I like to go to the cinema but I do not have a strong preference for a particular type of movies. For example, some days ago I watched "eat, pray, love" and I loved it... even if I still prefer the book. I tend to read books related with personal and spiritual growth; I just read "The art of happiness" of the Dalai Lama. Now I am reading "The wisdom of times" of Wayne Dyer and a book related to Vipassana meditation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To be honest, I find it difficult to answer this question... it seems to me to self-celebrate myself! But if I think about it, the bigget thing I have done is to find the courage to change my life even if 40+ years old. Maybe it could seem trivial to young and experienced travellers, but for me it has been - and still is - a big challange. At any rate, it does not matter if something is amazing to others' eyes, only our personal evaluation really counts! We have one life, let's try each day our best to live it the way we feel!!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach languages (italian, spanish and english), meditation, business in general (my first life interest). I learn hundreds of things from each surfer and person I meet, every human being and each situation is a teaching opportunity. I love sharing a nice chat while drinking and eating! I deeply believe we are one and altruism is the key to happiness; that is why I think I can say that sharing comes quite easy to me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Lots of stories, friendship, I can try to cook pasta or a risottto (I am not a good chef but I can try my best!), if you have a piano I can play (but not to sing!!!), I can invite you to dinner or to a beer.
