About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Life is a journey. To discover, learn and try as many new things as possible. Meet interesting people while doing and be able to look back and laugh at it all.

ABOUT ME

I'm a positive and happy wee soul that likes to dance. Colourful things entertain me for hours especially if they are sparkly. I love to be near water and surrounded by nature and animals but dislike the cold and bananas.

I adore exploring and discovering different cultures, countries, opinions and thought processes, whether this is through documentaries, books, or sharing stories and experiences, it all enriches our lives.

I would say I am fairly intelligent in the areas that interest me and am open minded and willing to those that I am not.

I love helping people and racking up those karma points and I drink lot's of tea just milk no sugar.

PHILOSOPHY

You are better to regret doing something than regret not doing it.

Life is about quality not quantity.

Everything I am not, makes me everything I am.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been hosting/surfing unofficially in the past, just meeting friends of friends, travellers in hostels, out and about. Edinburgh has a firm group of CS locals who are very welcoming and I now have many strong friendships through this.

I show people around the city and surrounding and give tips and recommendations on things to see/do.

Interests

Everything!!! Okay maybe not everything but I have watched a documentary on how ice lollies and Mercedez Benz cars are made.

Anything medical/biological related or a bit weird fascinates me. I like the paranormal and folklore, myths and legends of places I have been.

I take a huge interest in my work and treating people holistically and as naturally as possible.

I love to cook and bake, I'm a huge foodie and have tried chicken feet, emu, alligator, shark, witchiti grubs, jelly fish, squirrel, frogs legs and snails, dried fish, durian fruit and whale. I also found out gooseberries come in red flavour!

I adore animals and dream of being a mermaid.
I'm partial to a bit of dress up and unleashing my alter ego through costume design and make up, burlesque.

I enjoy sharing hugs, mint poppets, bright socks, licking people inappropriately, doing animal impersonations, crazy old school dancing, wrapping gifts all fancy, day dreaming, poetry, night dreaming

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies give us a glimpse into the possibilities of what life could be like. Books go that one step more and let us create it for ourselves.

I don't watch a lot of movies or TV. I like documentaries and a few junk sitcoms. American Beauty, The Butterfly Effect, Donnie Darko, Baz Lurhmann productions, Finding Nemo and world cinema are a few faves.

Read? I'll read anything that had print! Fliers, cereal boxes, papers. My favourite author for the past few years has been Karin Slaughter. I read a lot of medical/thriller based books. Factual, travel, costume design.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have danced around a supermarket singing songs about linguine in Chinese and danced in Princes St Garden fountain.

I have scuba dived in the Great Barrier Reef with a sea turtle and a shark.
Rode a camel and seen the Pyramids.

Seen the Northern Lights in Iceland strutted my stuff naked in a German spa.

I have canoed on Scottish lakes and gone hot air ballooning and rode a Segway.
I have dined in the outback of Oz and seen the sunrise over Uluru.

I have had a power shower under several waterfalls and been a boat cruise inside a volcanic lake. I mined for Olivina gem stones in Lanzarote's volcanic eruptions and found my twin in Canada.

Gone into Nerja cave to walk amongst the stalagmites, stalactites and troglodytes, posed nude in The1000BodiesProject to promote body acceptance and had it displayed during the Edinburgh Festival.

These are all amazing experiences but some other memories I hold dear is simply kicking back with other good human beans and being humbled by a strangers concern and willingness to help.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a qualified masseuse and a good cook and am happy to exchange or pass on what skills I have either to help you personally or for you to take on your travels and pass on to more people. I am creative and artsy and full of ideas and glitter!

I'd like to learn tribal drumming and fire skill and improve my french, learn a few phrases in Japanese. If anyone happens to have a pet elephant this would make my smile grin a little wider. I am almost illiterate when it comes to computer stuff so there is ALWAYS something I am avoiding concerning this!
