About Me

I'm a graduate student at the University of Maryland, College Park. I have a dog named Sundance. Love to travel, explore, and find hidden gems. Most of my adventuring has been state side, and usually involves finding BLM land or hiking into a forest, although I also enjoy exploring cities, finding great art, and good eats.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm in the process of trying to move back to the West Coast, and am looking to have some awesome adventures along the way! Couch surfing really appeals to me since I dig meeting new people and making new friends. Also, I'm a starving grad student, so it fits my budget.

Interests

Hiking, backpacking, cycling, mountain biking, trail running, snowboarding, kayaking, rock climbing, wake boarding, reading, good eats, friends and family, great company.

Music, Movies, and Books

I basically like all music with the exception of heavy metal and country.

Been super into series right now -- Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, Brooklyn Nine Nine, Portlandia, Parks and Rec, Modern Family, New Girl, Broad City, The Mindy Project, Empire.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed the middle sister of the Three Sister's (a big mountain in Oregon).

Teach, Learn, Share

My research focuses on prevention education regarding issues of violence. I'm always more than happy to teach, share, and learn others experiences with this topic, but I also understand that it can be a difficult topic to discuss with someone you have just met. Other topics I'm always happy to discuss include social justice movements, outdoorsy life, and amazing travel adventures/favorite trips.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My friends say that I'm an incredibly great listener. I always try to bring positive energy and good vibes with me wherever I go. Additionally, I dig cooking and breaking bread with others.
