About Me

Hi there ! I am Vittorio, I'm Italian. I'm currently living in Alba with my girlfriend Claire, in Piemonte.

As an "international couple" (Claire is from Bruxelles!) we enjoy to learn to know people from all over the world. We like sharing our respective cultures and get to know new ones. We speak Italian and English and (if I keep being motivated!!) French.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We think it`is a great way to travel. We love meeting new people, and we are aware that this could more difficult while travelling alone. Couchsurfing gives the opprtunity to meet people and get in touch with foreign cultures, and everything becomes an adventure!

Interests

I love biking and climbing, and in winter I ski. I used to bike at an agonistic level, but I decided to stop, because I realized I would have had more fun without races…even if I sometimes miss the adrenaline. Maybe that’s one of the reasons I try to find adrenaline everywhere else, even in small, everyday life situations. Mountains are more my stuff than Sea !

Claire loves dancing... individually as well as together. Indeed we have started taking part to a class of lindy hop together. I wasnt really sure about but now I m really happy that we ve jumped in this. She likes running (last year she reached a new distance objective: 20km !) but more swimming when thermometers here are reaching Crazy temperatures !

Music, Movies, and Books

We read a bit of everything..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I couldn't speak about most of them without a beer and the right atmosphere.
A couple of summers ago I was in the Netherlands working in a company to write my master thesis. Those months were memorable for a lot of reasons, one of them was my bike; everyone goes by bike in the Netherlands, and so did I!! And I fell in love with my bike that much that I decided that I wasn’t going to abandon it at the end of my internship….and I went back home in Italy by bike . I mean I tried, after one week I got my knees inflamed, and I had to stop, luckily I was in Munich when that happened, and the October fest helped me to feel better. Yes it definitely did. But at the end I must admit, I got a flixbus… But I’ll try again, I promise.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can teach you italian, french, and how to cook some pasta and some other (easy) but unknown italian recipes. But in general you can ask whatever you want and we'll do my best to help you!

What I Can Share with Hosts

We will always be glad to share everything we can, our stories, a nice talk with a coffee sometimes is the best thing to share them
