About Me

I am a mixed Balinese-Japanese general practitioner medical doctor who is currently in fellowship for cardiology residents in Indonesia. I've travelled a lot since in high school. My first overseas experience was a language travel with a lot of high school students to Gold Coast, Australia. In medicine school I traveled to Komodo island and a few ethnic places at Borneo and Celebes Island, Indonesia. Being one of few chosen lucky students, I was sent to Groningen, Netherlands for World Bank scholarship exchange program, while also taking advantage to travel by myself to Brussels, Rome, Barcelona, Venice, Paris and Prague. That was a fascinating yet thrilling experience since it was my first solo travel round the world, but it was okay since I met a lot of new solo traveller from round the world to hang out too. After joining Navy, I was deployed to more places I would never imagined I could land my feet on, learning diving and hyperbaric medicine in Istanbul, Turkey, was one of those.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been registered as a couchsurfer as early as 2012, but cold truth is that I was never given a chance to experience surfing in it. I think this could be the best opportunity for me to not just travel, but also meet with the great real locals, while also living with them, experiencing new local things, learning exciting local stuffs, and the list goes on. What would be better than hanging out with thoughtful local residents while travelling to out of nowhere?

Music, Movies, and Books

Movie, I am into movies with hardly predictable story plot, good composition cinematography, beautiful tone color, and thoughtful dialogue, also some sit-com and sci-fi lovers here. Let's talk movies such as The King's Speech, Inception, Real Steel, and several Netflix original series The Umbrella Academy, House of Cards, Young Sheldon, and the highly anticipated Family Guy.

Music, some rich and creative uplifting music from talented indie and jazz artist.

Books, detective story like Hercule Poirot by Agatha Christie and fictional history of my beloved country such as Tetralogy of Buru Islands by Pramoedya Ananta Toer whose transcript has been translated to many languages around the world.
