Hello ! My name is Parisa, I am 26 years old and I am a Clinical Art Therapist. I use Photography and Creative Writing to supplement traditional therapy for individuals suffering from severe mental illness or behavioral issues. I believe that through creative self-expression --- anything is possible !! I love to travel above all else. In my free time I like to hike, stay outdoors, watch live music, try new types of cuisine, (and living in New Orleans) --- I naturally love to dress up in costume and wigs any chance I get!

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I am on Couchsurfing because I am naturally drawn to connecting with people who like to travel and try new things. I grew up in a blended family where multiple languages were spoken at home, multiple religions were practiced, and perhaps the ONLY thing we had in common was a natural curiosity for the world and the different kinds of people who inhabit it. I love meeting other travelers, hearing their stories, and simply sharing space with fellow wanderlusts viciously bitten by the travel bug !

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I love a wide range of music, from dirty house and techno vibes, to brass band funk music, to good ole' jam band whiskey stomping music ! My favorite author is Gabriel Garcia Marquez, my favorite poet is Rumi. Some of my favorite movies are the Science of Sleep, Dr. Parnassus Wonder Emporium, and Enter The Void --- but my true love is cult classic horror films -- I'm a hippie who's strangely obsessed with gore, murder mystery, and true crime movies !

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

When I was at a major cross roads in my life, I quit a job that I hated, sold all of my major possessions, and bought a one-way ticket to South America. With no friends or family, I created my own little family there and began teaching Landscape Photography to adults with mental illness. Surrounded by strangers, in Argentina, I found my life's calling all because of a wonderful but impulsive leap of faith !
