About Me

Hola!! I'm Jerome from New Zealand :) I'm about to embark on another South American adventure!!

Buenos Aires -> Montevideo -> Rosario -> Salta -> Bolivia -> Peru -> Ecuador -> Colombia -> Mexico -> Southern US

Love a good summer full of sun, surfing, beach, parties and festivals. Other interests include coffee, beer and wine, cool bars, off the beaten track exploration, cooking, eating etc etc. I work with teenagers from troubled backgrounds that have to live in a secure residence for a while (ie not allowed to leave, but sometimes they try run away and we have to chase them, it's pretty rad)

i have been really enjoying taking photos on a shitty 35mm camera, and have a blog http://cestsaintjerome.tumblr.com/ hoping to take lots of photos on this trip.

I have done a lot of couchsurfing before (Europe, Brazil, Colombia) as well as hosted a lot of people at my flat in Auckland,

PHILOSOPHY

adventure over commodities. left wing. 420. im not tooooo worried about seeing all the sights, and would rather go to some rad hidden bar or house party than see some 'must see' attraction.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have hosted in Auckland and surfed all over the world

visited 9 states (4%)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

couchsurfing is so great. i (jerome) recently surfed in brazil and colombia and was so amazed with the experiences. have hosted heaps in auckland.
looking forward to meeting all you welcoming people and having chats over a few beers and having random dance parties

However, we have hosted quite a few people over the last few years and definitely have had a mix of experiences. So here's the deal, if you are just after a free night's accomodation, don't clean up after yourself, don't engage in conversation, spend all day in the house as opposed to venturing out and about, complain about how NZ is far more expensive than the third world countries you've been to etc don't bother sending a request. If you are lovely, interested, preferably have references and appreciate the fact that some random is allowing you to stay at their house and use their facilities then do send a request. Two nights max. Mention the word YEAYA in your request to show you've read the profile ;)

Interests

surfing, coffee, chilling in nice cafes or on the beach, beer & wine, strange festival films you might have seen that we haven't, duty free liquor and good times, long walks on the rooftop and nightswims
