Hello! I'm Parker T. Ovalle and I am a freelance photographer, dancer and art producer. I first found my interest in dance when I was 15 years old, after working as a stagehand for a concert at a performing arts high school. Immediately becoming obsessed with all things dance culture, I devoted the next eight years to learning, teaching, and performing as a dancer and artist. It was't until I was 19 years old that my interest in photography became as prevalent as my interest in dance. During my first year at Florida State University, I realized my two passions can exist simultaneously by bringing them together into the same medium. After receiving my BFA in Dance from FSU and chasing my dreams in New York City for two years, I decided it's time to quit my job, get rid of all material items, pack up what I needed, and hit the road to discovery and explore art, dance, and cultures from around the world. 我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Currently I am exploring the concepts of "Perspective and Movement" and how economical, environmental, and cultural differences play a role in how people, from all over the world, define these simple terms. Because this project includes working with all different cultures, people, and cities, I have to dive deep head first and visit these places. My plan is to spend 1-2 weeks in each location, so that I can work with dancers and artist from the area. The reason I am on couchsurfing is so I can move freely from city to city without having to be set on a certain path. With couthsurfing during this process, I am allowing myself the freedom and flexibility for the project to also create a path that can be honest and true in nature.

I love all types of music, movies, and books. Lately I have found that my music choices of been a mixture of what spotify can randomly select for me based off my previous selections, and scrolling through the Top 100 chart. When it comes to book, I really love any type of self help book that shows another perspective or way to look at something. And when it comes to movies...I LOVE them all!

Last year I was able to travel to over 13 places (I had never been before) in 9 months, while working a full time job and having a part time job on the side.

Although I will not have much, I am able to do perform basic labor and work that would be considered helpful to the hosts. Because I am a freelance photographer and art producer, I am also available to edit and take photos of different events as an even swap as well! Besides these tangible items and tasks, I hope that I can share my art and experiences with my hosts. I believe the people who truly live in work in that area, are the best source of knowledge and advice to further drive my projects!
