Hey! My name is Parker VanSickle and I'm an American student studying Computer Engineering at Clemson University. I have traveled all around North America and Southeast Asia learning about new cultures and meeting wonderful people.

I am pretty outgoing and I have a sense of adventure that has led to my travel addiction! I'm excited to have the opportunity to meet plenty of people from around the world with Couchsurfing. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My favorite part of traveling to new places has always been interacting with the locals and experiencing the true culture of that area! I hope that Couchsurfing will make it a lot easier to meet up with locals and see their city and their culture as they do.

Interests

Music is a huge part of my life. I mostly listen to electronic music but I listen to rock and occasionally hip-hop as well. I started playing piano at around age 11 and producing electronic music shortly after that.

I am big into exercise and outdoor activities as well. I love hiking, biking, running, snowboarding, and playing soccer. I enjoy a healthy debate about politics too but I won't push people into talking about it if they don't want to bring it up.

I love traveling and one of my favorite parts of experiencing a new place is eating their cuisine and trying the local favorite drinks. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:

I mostly enjoy rock and electronic music. My favorite genre is trance and you will find my listening to the likes of Photographer, Alex M.O.R.P.H, Cosmic Gate, Andy Moor, MaRLo, Armin van Buuren, Heatbeat etc.

Movies:

I mostly watch thrillers/action films and dramas. However I enjoy a good comedy from time to time. I'm a fan of pretty much anything Danny Boyle has directed!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I taught myself music theory in about a years time and now I produce electronic music with that knowledge!

I love learning about the local languages of places I travel and in exchange I can help with your English skills if you would like!

I would also love to share drinks/dinner or help cook a meal at home if you would like. I enjoy cooking and cleaning so I would definitely be willing to assist!

I also enjoy having conversations about almost anything anything ranging from science, to music, to politics and more if you are up for it.
