About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Montana Tour Guiding!

ABOUT ME

I'm a very curious person with more interests than I can handle and more hobbies than I have time for. I'm a happy guy that usually sees the positive sides of things. Be careful, my identical twin is also here in Austin!
I have an undergrad in french horn performance and I marched drum corps for some time as well. I've taught music to high school kids for a bit, played in an orchestra but am now in my second year of a graduate degree in architecture at UT.
After growing up in Texas I can now without a doubt say Austin is the only place I can live in this state, especially with Claypit. God bless endless Indian food ;)

PHILOSOPHY

live and forgive

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to be the best surfer I can be and that means being polite, friendly, and very helpful. I want to be a great example so hosts continue to be excited in hosting new couch surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed and wwoofed in New Zealand. I've done more bus surfing than couch surfing though. My brother and I used to have to take a bus from Dallas to Chicago once a month for two years. 24 hours of old, smelly, tired bus. One time we left Chicago in the winter time and the windows froze up....on the inside!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - Ender's game, Collapse, The Power of Now, The Little Engine that Could, The Death and Life of Great American Cities, Outliers, Green Metropolis, Harry Potter Series, National Geographic Magazine

I don't really watch TV but I love the Discovery Channel

Podcasts! The moth, Radiolab (rocks my world), Wait Wait Don't Tell Me (always makes me laugh)

As far as movies go my all time favorite is Braveheart. Band of Brothers, and Milo and Otis are up there. Who didn't like Black Swan? so amazing....
Documentaries are my weak spot, nothing like real life. Man on Wire is one of my favorites as well as the adventure type like 180 degrees South.
If you've seen the movie "A Guide to Remembering Your Saints" that's definitely some points in my book too.

Right now my musical lineup goes something like Delta Spirit, Mahler, Fleet Foxes, Tallest Man on Earth, Yeasayer, Animal Collective, Prokofiev, Deer Tick, and Johnny Cash but I go through cycles. I have a bad habit of loving a group waaaaaaay too much and killing a cd in a week then never listening to it again

Food - I love it. keep it coming haha
Even though I'm not an expert cook I love people who have that talent

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been officially the best in the world at something!
