About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to travel & work across the globe while making lasting connections & enjoying the places!... AND: LIVE to EAT !!

ABOUT ME

After spending the first 20 odd yrs of my life in India, moved to UK for higher studies. Having done that and getting a feel for EU, decided to stay back and work for a while. A good decision as work has taken me to various continents and lived in UK, Finland, US, UAE, Belgium...
In June'12 moved back to India for work, let's see for how long before next adventure begins!

Although I follow the 'main-stream' career path, I do keep an eye for the fun side of life and try to live to the max. So, CS fits the bill perfectly as it gives me a really good contrast from my weekday life and provides a nice refresher that I use to benefit both myself and the ones around me!

PHILOSOPHY

Summed up in a few quotes:

If everybody spoke only when spoken to; nobody will ever speak.

Don't ever slam a door shut, you might want to go Back.

An argument has 2 sides and No ends. It is better to lose an argument than to lose a friend.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

How I participate??? The ones who know me a bit might say I just do 'food-related' things, but NO! I do enjoy other aspects, but food seems to be the No.1 as it helps me to bring together ppl who share the same passion! So when we get to know more of each other then you will find out more about me, eventually. I do not limit myself to a genre of activity, so anything that seems exciting and has a flavour; I'm all up for it. Mostly ad-hoc things seems to get my attention a lot. While doing this, obviously I try to make the ones around me as comfortable and energised as possible!
Also I use CS for a cliche: Meet New People!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, as for the CS experiences I would say: The Works (the whole thing). Have surfed, hosted, met for coffees, meals, movies, meetings, drinks etc etc...
I tend to maintain a common theme though: Spread the message and build the element of trust. Thats what I call global civilization!!

Places I've been on and off CS...
20 + countries...

Interests

The BEST thing to talk about!!!
I like to travel, only a little bit ;)...
Am up for anything almost instantaneously & Like to experience new and unknown (to me) things. Quite in to watching movies and enjoy the music on the charts.
Reading, nature trailing, EATING OUT diff cuisines, Hanging out in general...
A few interests that some might find umm... & Some personal interests more linked to profession as well, but those you'll figure when you get know me better... this much is good for starters.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Music: Rock, Pop, R&B, Ghazals (Indian)... & basically whatever is on Top of the Charts.

Favorite Movies: The Godfather series, and some of Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson, etc... Too many! I am addicted to movies, so there is a good chance I'd go and see what's out there.

Favorite Books: Mostly fictions but fond of reading non-fiction as well. Fav authors include- Ken Follett, Jeffrey Archer, Dan Brown, Erich Segal, Paolo Coelho...
Been reading some non-fiction from Mitch Albom lately, would recommend.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Solved cetain equations, negotiated some deals, analysed some numbers ;)

Travelled, that in itself is an amazing experience to me as about a decade ago I was just reading about all places in books or watching on TV! Intend to continue this for years to come...

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: what I know of,
Learn: what you know of, and
Share: what we know with others!

Avoid being Prejudiced: it's hard to but try making an effort.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Travel stories and experiences... same as I expect in return!
This is the most valuable genuine input I feel I can have...

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Maldives, Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, Qatar, Slovakia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

Belgium, Finland, India, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States
