an awe-inspiring road trip in a Toyota Hilux, through the Andes with a friend, starting in Santiago, Chile and ending in Mendoza, Argentina in the South American fall of 2000. leaving the city behind on a crisp morning with sunshine, winding into the mountains, crossing into Argentina, sunshine and blue sky like the flag, breathtakingly beautiful scenery, past the base of Aconcagua, windblown snowy mountain tops, falling autumn eaves, and stopping at a sleepy roadside restaurant serving the most delicious steak I've ever tasted, followed by a super relaxing weekend in Mendoza, hanging out with the locals, soaking up the local flavour, and drinking el vino tinto...great memories of a weekend spent in an amazing part of this planet
