About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting re-accustomed to life in Germany

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small village nearby the already mentioned "oldest city in Germany". After finishing school I studied in Mainz and Freiburg and graduated in political science and geography. After that I realized one of my dreams, doing a bike trip through America on which I pedaled from the United States to Colombia in 13 months.
Now I´m back in Germany and trying to find my next mission. I like to be out in the nature. I like to play the guitar alone and with others. I like to jump off cliffs. And I like a lot of other things as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been on both sides of the couch but as there are not too many people coming to the place where I live, I have been hosted more often than vice versa.
I have travelled to most European, some African and American countries and had a lot of interesting and positive Couchsurfing-experiences all over the place!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Spent a few days in Leipzig and was hosted warmly. My host took me to a lot of her friends flats and parties.
Eager to make more experiences.
Later I did a biketrip through Western Europe and met some nice people by CS even though it was sometimes hard to find a host. It took me four weeks and I only had to pay for a room four times because there was no host to find. Several short trips.
After one year of surfing couches in the US and Latin America I am eager to host in Germany and pay back some of the hospitaility I experienced throughout the world.
I have participated in CS for about four years now and I have to admit that I have not had any negative experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
As long as there are any instruments in it, it´s likely that i can get along with the music. Dire Straits, Guns n Roses (somebody´s got to name them), Metallica, Thin Lizzy, The Weakerthans, Seeed, Xavier Rudd, John Butler Trio, The Living End, The Hellacopters, Bright Eyes,...
Books:
Hermann Hesse, John Steinbeck, Gabriel García Márquez, Hermann Scheer, Götz Werner, Max Goldt, Mary Shelley,... quite a diverse combination.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, it's not that amazing, but for those who want to know some more, here's a link to a video a nicaraguan TV team did about my bike trip from California to South America:

Teach, Learn, Share

I´m always eager to learn more, curiosity is a great part of my personality I think. At the moment I´d like to become really fluent in Spanish and improve my dancing (Salsa, Merengue, Tango).
