About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is my first trip to Europe. My friend Dan, with whom I'll be traveling, said he had flyer miles that were about to expire, so I offered to help with that problem.

ABOUT ME

I am told that I am "a character, easily liked, sometimes funny, and always fun to hang out with." Hanging out with people is, for me, a time to explore who they are and what makes them who they are. I am interested in people's live that are different than my own, for me it brings truth to the variety and the sameness that I always belived existed.

My travel partner is Dan Huber. We have known each other since 1st grade but didn't become good friends until later in life. He, also, has moments that can be quite entertaining, somewhere between the many sentences I speak. :)

PHILOSOPHY

The ultimate happiness in life is to love and be loved. Philosphy and reality sure do take a long time to catch up with each other.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I am done remodeling my house, I will open it up to overnight surfing.

Interests

Dan and I both read, bicycle 20 miles every other day, swim...well..float is more our style, and enjoy imbibing the local brew, which often draws us to laugh as much as life will allow.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love the blues, along with jazz, ambient, and techo, some rap, and a lot of hip hop. Beethoven's Symphony #7 in A, Op.92-2 Allegretto is my favorite in classical tunes. I have 5 thousand songs on my IPod at the time of this writing and it continues to grow.

Books: Favorites are The Plague, The Master and Margarita, Song of Solomon, Kafka's Hunger Artist and Metamorphosis.

Movies: Hum...I saw a movie in the 70's about a colony of very tiny people who lived in the grass under foot, in fact the foot was their most destructive enemy. It was animated and I have no idea what it was. No one I ask knows anything about it; in fact, they say, "That was during the social revolution. Are you sure it was a movie and not a hallucination?" Someday I'll find someone who can lend me some validity!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Awestruck? Any place that I read about and then find myself standing there is awesome. I am easily entertained.
