About Me
Hello everybody! I am a 4th year medical student at Loyola University Chicago, Uber driver on the weekends, former carpenter and State Lifeguard back in CA, father of three, and brand new to couchsurfing. I will be applying for residency in Family Medicine in the Fall of 2018, and planning to start residency in July 2019.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One of my favorite aspects of driving for Uber is meeting people from all walks of life whom I would otherwise never meet. One night I was driving for Uber and drove a lady from Oak Park to downtown Chicago to a couchsurfing meetup. She told me she's been involved in the organization from the beginning and highly recommended I look into it, especially with residency applications coming up.
As a father of three in medical school, I am hoping to cut costs as much as possible this Fall as I fly around the country interviewing for family residency positions. It's not just the cost savings that attract me, however. I am excited to explore and learn about the surrounding areas of each hospital where I interview to decide if the location will truly be a good fit for me and my family for the next three years, and possibly even a lifetime. What better way to learn about the local area than by staying with a local?

I've always been interested in just about anything going on around me, so I would be equally up for pickup sports, a motorcycle cruise, wine tasting, concerts, cards, or whatever.
