Music, Movies, and Books

There's so much about what I love in music that it's difficult to describe in a few words. I'm just gonna say I respect every artist when actually trying to make music, not random sounds to make money. I mostly like rock music, indie, alternative, but depending on the mood I listen to pretty much anything: Jazz, Blues, Classical, Classic Rock, Salsa, Punk, Electronic, Bluegrass, Instrumental, anything that inspires me, motivates me or gets me to play along and improvise on my guitar.
Some of my favorite bands and artists include: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Live, Foo Fighters, Postal Service, The XX, TV on the Radio, Muse, The Arcade Fire, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Temper Trap, Arctic Monkeys, Editors, Green Day, Coldplay, Radiohead, Metallica, Jamiroquai, Gomez, Smashing Pumpkins, MGMT, Paco de Lucia, Al di Meola, Eric Clapton, John McLaughlin, Dave Matthews Band, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, G3, Justice, DeadMau5, Portishead, Mumford and Sons, Sublime, Collective Soul, Guns&Roses and so many others...I like Cirque du Soleil too, musically and artistically; Ringling Brothers...not bad either.

Latinamerican prose, which I feel is somehow underrated, yet so rich! From magic realism to historical essays, fiction, non-fiction, biographies, I enjoy pretty much anything (...cheesy romantic novels not so much...); Paz, Horacio Quiroga, García Márquez, Ibargüengoitia, Borges, Vargas Llosa, Pacheco, Coelho, Saramago, Fuentes, Rulfo, Onetti, Azuela and so many others...Mountains beyond Mountains by Tracy Kidder is a great book, Development as Freedom by Amartya Sen...

I Love food in general. I don't have a delicate palate and enjoy any sort of edible grub, chow, bite, snack, bread, viand, feast, comestible, fodder, cookery, entrée, meal, provision, home cooking, goodies, nourishment or ration, instilled in my mouth.
Italian, Indian and Thai are up there with Mexican, of course. Always enjoyed sushi and a good steak, but I'm trying to eat less meat, which is not so feasible in the US with so many places to eat good meat.... and there is always space for chocolate! I must say I cook pretty good mexican food too (I've been told...).
