About Me

CURRENT MISSION

see the world, and get my map filled in!

ABOUT ME

hey everyone! i love to travel, as i'm sure everyone here does. i have a tattoo of the world around half of my torso and am slowly filling it in as i travel to all the corners of the earth. its a very ambitious project, but at least i wont get done fast and get bored! ha! i'm pretty laid back, and all about helping out some fellow travelers. regardless if it'd be a couch, or showing you around, or if you could really use a ride. i'm here to help if i can.

PHILOSOPHY

live and let live. i can be very pasionate about my beliefs, but i would never try to push them on anyone else, and i ask the same in return. dont get me wrong, i'd have a debate with anyone about anything, but at the end of the day, its just a debate. i dont take things personally, and i dont get offended easily. life is to short for that. if you are touchy about something, please just give me a heads up and i'll try to avoid it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i havent had the privilege of surfing myself yet, because i didnt join the site till more recently when my friend corinne showed me what this was all about, but i have made a couple good friends as a direct result of couchsurfing. i hope that when i do travel again, i can find some friendly CS people where ever i may go. its always nice to make a friend. i'd love to help out some people in the area though with whatever i can. i have lots of space and loving dogs... :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i havent surfed yet, and i havent hosted yet, but i have made a few friends through the site. the get to meet some locals and have a drink type of meeting that has prospered into great friendships.

Interests

travel of course, getting to know new people and cultures. i love to cook, and even more so love to eat. i love to play cards, and play with my dogs. hiking and biking and when its nice, the beach. i just love to enjoy life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

well, i was stationed on a submarine for 4 and a half years. ive been to japan, australia, guam, much of the states, a good chunk (about 1/2) of europe, and south africa. i am scuba certified. cpr and first aid certified. ive hiked mountains and volcanos (well, just 1 volcano). ive met some amazing people and had some crazy times with them. some of my best memories though, are of sharing coffee with a friend at a local coffee shop, or cooking thanksgiving dinner for the guys at work who couldnt be home with their families, and walking in total down pour tain just because we felt like taking a walk, or that one time we all dressed up like fools and partied till we couldnt remember our names (who am i kidding? one time??! lol)

anyway, looking back on things i notice that most of my most amazing memories and all very simple and just happy times. :)

oh wait... this says "one" thing. agh, owell.

Teach, Learn, Share

i dont know everything about anything, but i know a few things about a whole bunch of stuff. much of it is useless, but hey, it may come in handy some day.
anyway, i can talk semi intelligently about construction and home remodeling, dogs, camping and hiking, jeeps, and who knows what else.
i can speak fairly intelligently about poker, travel, and nuclear power.
the rest i guess would go in the "needs to be educated" category. lol
